Sang J.Ahn
Vice President – Commercial, Bangalore International Airport Limited
Sang J. Ahn is introducing initiatives to develop Bangalore International as a highly reputable and strongly performing commercial airport. Controlling the busiest airport in the region and the main gateway to southern India, Bangalore International Airport Limited is one of the first privatised airport operators since 2008.
Bangalore Airport is now preparing to create a new T2 to serve the rapidly expanding aviation demand in the region, increasing its annual capacity to 55 million passengers by 2020.
Ahn is responsible for developing and managing overall airport commercial outlets and services including duty free, retail, F&B, advertising, lounges, land transportation and others. At the same time he is focusing on commercial concept coordination and passenger experience curation to maximise the emerging market.
As Vice President – Commercial he especially values mutual trust and win-win cooperation with concessionaires to build a sustainable airport eco-system. Ahn firmly believes that only the best interests of the passengers can dictate the policy of the airport’s management.
Since 1996 Ahn has worked with distinction at airports in Korea, Iraq, Indonesia and India.

In 2004 Decaux led JCDecaux’s entry into the Chinese market, then other fast-growing countries – where the Group now generates 34% of its revenue.
Richard Gill
Head of Commercial, Birmingham Airport
Richard is currently the Head of Commercial at Birmingham Airport, with responsibility for all aspects of non-aeronautical revenue including food and beverage, retail and car parking. Non-aeronautical activities now account for more than 55% of the airport’s revenue.
During his time at Birmingham Gill has overseen a major commercial development which resulted in the merger of the airport’s two terminals and resulted in marked improvements to the commercial yield. During this period nearly all of the commercial offer at the airport has been upgraded and many new additions added to the offer, including most recently a luxury retail development with LSTR which fitted in nicely with the commencement of direct Beijing flights this summer. Similarly marked improvements have been made to the food and beverage offer within the airport, providing passengers with an improved and more varied offer.
Gill presented at last year’s Trinity Forum and challenged Anna Sventivanyi from Mondelez to work with Birmingham Airport and World Duty Free to deliver a true Trinity experience. Sventivanyi took up the challenge, and this year we welcome the trio to report back on the progress of this initiative.
